FILM CLUB FOR CHILDREN
Through series and films based on books or real events, we prepared engaging and educational block of group lessons for 10+ year olds
Over 5 weeks course your child will:
be guided by an enthusiastic teacher in a group fewer than 5
improve language skills through discussions, writing tasks and listening/watching
learn about what is involved in film making, e.g. terminology, analysing characters, sets, story and how these are linked and why they are important
collaborate with peers, express their point of view and listen to others.
improve general knowledge by learning about the books/events the films were based on and periods, cultures, historical facts involved.
This block is based on the first season (which adapts the first four books of the novel series: The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window and The Miserable Mill) of A Series of Unfortunate Events series and consists of 4 sessions.
About the Speaker
Lessons are led in a small group of children by an experienced teacher.
Madeleine is an extremely passionate and hard-working individual who enjoys all aspects of film and film theory. She studied Film Studies, English and Literature for GCSE and IB gaining top marks and has experience discussing and writing about films during her 5 years’ experience in the subject. At the moment Maddy is studying Film and Television in Bristol university and tutors for EducAd Consulting.
