Science Club for kids
Kids make the best scientists! WHY?
Because they are inquisitive, keen to learn and love asking why, why, why!
If you are between the ages of 10-12 years old, get ready for some seriously fun science! All you need to be able to do some simple but fun science experiments are some household ingredients, a bit of space and your best curiosity hat on (you don’t really need a hat on at all, but you could make one!).
During the 5-week course, you will carry out 5 fun experiments. You will need to carry out the experiments in your own time before each session (one experiment per week) as we will be discussing the outcome of each experiment and explaining what happened using scientific words!
The 5 experiments that you will carry out
during the science course:
1. "Make an egg bounce” – this experiment looks at the process of osmosis in more detail.
2. “Make your own magical potions” – students learn about pH and neutralisation.
3. “Make a lava lamp” – students learn about elements and their properties.
4. “Make a balloon hovercraft” – students learn about pressurised air.
5. “Jumping frogs” – students learn about static electricity.
The start of the next round is 17th May at 17:00 London time and then every Monday
Cost: £100 for a 5-week science course
