BOOK CLUB
Do your children not read enough in English?
Are you concerned about the quality of books they read and how well they understand the text?
Not sure how to help them?
We have a solution!
Under the guidance of an experienced native-speaking teacher, we have created a book club for children to foster a love for reading, develop text analysis skills, and build essential creative writing abilities.
One-on-one or small group lessons with a teacher will help your child express their thoughts clearly in English, learn to engage in discussions, and refine their communication skills.
During the course your child will:
Read a book
Discuss and analyse the text
Answer questions related to text comprehension
Learn new words and practice using them
Develop imagination and predict the continuation of the story
Complete homework: read excerpts and work on creative assignments
How the lessons will be conducted:
One-on-one with a teacher
In a small group if you want to arrange joint lessons with friends
Once a week at a convenient time for you
Flexible course start date
Teachers are native speakers with extensive teaching experience and experts in children's reading instruction
Book selection is personalised, taking into account the child's English level and interests
Cost: from £50 per individual lesson (group prices vary depending on the number of students)
Have a look at a short video from the book club lesson:
“I could never get James to read enough and now he really looks forward to the class. The classes are engaging and interesting and such a fun way to develop comprehension skills”
Book example for 8-10 years old:
‘The Witches’, Roald Dahl
There are witches EVERYWHERE. Witches could be a cashier in a supermarket, a woman driving a fancy car, or even your own teacher.
The only thing a witch cares about is squelching children. She hunts and squelches as many children as she possibly can. At least one a week.
The Grand High Witch hates children most of all and plans to make every single one of YOU disappear.
Only one boy and his grandmother can stop her. But if their plan fails, the Grand High Witch will frizzle them like fritters, and then what will happen?
Book example for 9-11 years old:
“The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, Douglas Adams
Arthur Dent is enjoying his ordinary Thursday lunchtime until his friend Ford Prefect plucks him from the planet just before his house gets demolished. The Earth soon follows, removed to make space for a galactic freeway. Arthur soon learns that his friend is actually an alien doing research as they hurtle through space with their towels and an innocuous-looking book titled, in large friendly letters, the words: DON’T PANIC.
Together they begin their journey through space...
